Back in 2016, while my niece, daughter, and I were visiting the zoo in anticipation of the Knoxville Tiger Exhibit, we had a very important phone conversation with my mom who lived 100 miles away. Unfortunately, it was to be the last one that my mother could speak coherently. We had promised each other we would return once the exhibit was completed later, and we did. There would be many other subsequent trips to view and appreciate this rare Malayan Tiger named Arya. We feel a very special connection with her!
