Description
One sunny day early in the morning as I was driving out in Blount County away from town, I happen to catch a glance of some beautiful horses feeding on grasses on a hillside. The dark horse on the left really caught my eye, as he looks like a male Thoroughbred Stallion and really had all of the makings of a racing horse! The other two in the backgournd are female, I think, and seem to keep very close to the male. I could sense that the male was keeping a watchful eye on me as I approached, so I didn't get too close and was very quiet to capture this lovely scene with my Cannon camera. I had to be quick, because the horses quickly moved on shortly after I clicked my camera!
This is the first painting I have done of these amazing creatures (I have painted a zebra and a Pegasus, but not of just a horse), but hope to do an even larger one offering a panoramic view of the horses feeding on this dreamy hillside very soon in this Spring, so keep watching for it!

Maria, I have always been interested in art and wanted to pursue a career in it after high school, but couldn't afford design school, so I settled! Years later, like remembering your favorite song from childhood, I realized I needed to once again remember and experience the Joy of Art, so I tried painting about four years ago now. I am glad that I did and appreciate your mentoring of me in that endeavor. Maria, you are so encouraging, knowledgable, and bring such energy and presence to FAA--thank you from the bottom of my heart, my friend!
