Purchase a tote bag featuring the mixed media "Into the Light of Day" by Kimberlee Baxter.   Our tote bags are made from soft, durable, poly-poplin fabric and include a 1" black strap for easy carrying on your shoulder.   All seams are double-stitched for added durability.   Each tote bag is machine-washable in cold water and is printed on both sides using the same image.

Artist's Description

The proper name for day lilies is Hemerocallis. According to the Hemerocallis Society, the word Hemerocallis is derived from two Greek words meaning "beauty" and "day," referring to the fact that each flower lasts only one day. It is interesting to note that the day lily is overwintered as a bulb in a cool dark place. In other words, it completely dies back in the winter, and then makes its bright and memorable appearance for one day.
A mother's love is something that can not be bought--there is no price tag to it! The power of the kind of love that can only come from a mother is a power that can warm the heart and take any day full of gloom and make it so much brighter! This work serves as a tribute to all mothers--not just for "One Day", but for each and every day!

Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices!
