This work was created using a combination of my painting with Japanes Koi and fallen leaves and a photograph of mine using multiple layers and filters to create a digital painting effect. I have always admired Asian art, especially Japanese and was hoping to achieve a work using elements from that genre. May it help to both delight and calm the senses and create joy for the viewer!
Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices!
