This spiritual work is a combination of two of my paintings:
"Abstract of Eagle in the Sky" and "Til' All Shall See Jesus".
The background for the first painting:
A storm is breaking up and the sunlight beams are breaking thorough the clouds! If you look closely, you can almost see the pattern of an abstract of an eagle in the sky in flight; hence, the title: "Abstract of Ealge in the Sky".
For the second painting:
When I first began to think about painting Jesus, I wanted to study about how he has been depicted throughout time, particularly through the eyes of the Western part of the World! Interestingly, because Westerners have over the last centuries, been in the forefront of leading the rest of the world, they tend to have a rather egocentric view in interpreting the history of the Christian Bible. Therefore, Christ has generally been depicted looking like a Caucasion, instead of someone of Jewish or Mediterranean descent! However, we know from reading...
Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices!
