"How Much Is Enough?"
I could write a whole book or two about this subject, but I will try to summarize my thoughts about this subject of "How much is enough?" How many trees will we cut down and mountains level as we mine for minerals and stones and destroy the delicate balance of all living things as we drill deep into the earth for fracking? As Americans, we do more than our fair share--not only are we destroying our own country without thinking about what we are leaving in place for our children and our children's children, but then we feel we have a license to do the same in other countries!
I know that as I write this on my I-pad in my air conditioned home with electricity, that I feel a bit of a hypocrite, but, in my defense, I do pride myself in reducing and reusing and living in a smaller home that, to many Americans, would be "beneath their standards" (i.e. 500 sq. ft. and one bath for four people--but, we are renovating our garage downstairs to expand our living...

Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices!
