Artist's Description
A butterfly and two honeybees are lighting upon some daisies. Though they are in competition with each other for a food source, nectar from the flowers, they still manage to find a way to work together synergistically with each other by "dancing" around each other! When we see that even the animals in the natural world we live in know how to make a way to get along with each other, it gives us hope for humanity--that we can, in turn, do the same! This work has a black and white with grayscale effect applied with some color left in for the daisy buttons and butterfly to give this work a more "monochromatic" look! This effect in the PhotoEditor Program is called "Arizona"; hence, the last part of the title "...in Arizona".
This work was made possible through the generous contribution of an amazing photographer, Tanya Myatt Baker! It is from her photograph, that I painted this derivative work. You can see more of her beautiful photos at http://www.facebook.com/bakerspics
About Kimberlee Baxter
Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices! As a result, I decided to major in Political Science and Anthropology. Studying about different cultures, its art, and political systems has always fascinated me! I think that we can learn a...
