Well, thank you, Dave, but much of the credit here for this work of art in a resin necklace goes to my friend on this FAA Website, Carla Parris! She is such a talented jewelry maker, Dave, I can picture your amazing patriotic work framed in this way--made into a resin necklace! Now, that really would take a prize!

Yes, it can "showcase" your artwork, but it can also be a source of encouragement and help to uplift someone who needs to know they are special to you! I had one of these made for a dear friend's daughter who is battling Leukemia to help uplift her spirits! If you feel that you are being called to make some jewelry, you will find it rewarding when you bless others with it!

Very nice, Kimberlee! Just seeing this encourages me.....I've had the makings sitting in my workshop for some time and still haven't gotten to it.........another wonderful way to show off YOUR wonderful art! Kudos to Carla as well! F/V!

Thank you, John, for your thoughtful comment! Yes, it is an honor to have another artist to use your artwork (with permission of course). Carla Parris is both a talented artist and jewelry maker and can be commissioned to make pieces of jewelry out of your work, too!

Very unique jewelry piece created from this beautiful butterfly work you have done. Great idea. Also an honor to have another artist inspired so much by it as to use it in their work. Well done Kimberlee. V/F

I really liked how this design worked with this particular shape, and I thought the black of the text was particularly nice with the dark areas in the frame. Hope you are enjoying your necklace!!

Kimberlee Baxter replied:

Thank you, Carla. I really like how this design turned out, too. You did a great job interpreting my art work and "framing" it well! I love it! If you noticed, Carla, three of our jewelry designs have been featured with the group "Fabric and Clothing"! I think that says a lot!

Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices! As a result, I decided to major in Political Science and Anthropology. Studying about different cultures, its art, and political systems has always fascinated me! I think that we can learn a...
