This is a detail or close up of the original work "Grandma's Roses". It was painted in honor of my children's paternal grandmother, who is an exceptional gardener and a wonderful grandma! ( Please see original work for full description.)
Also, please note: This would make the perfect card for your special Valentine!
Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Thank you so much, Wayne! I can't help that I love romantic and/or feminine subjects, because that is who I am! I think that there is something especially wonderful about a red rose...whether singly or in a cluster or a bouquet! They are so lively and brilliant and bold. Red and green are my favorite colors, in fact. I have chosen this work for a very large print for my own bedroom, because I really enjoy their unique beauty. Thanks for your appreciation, Wayne, of these as well and your great support! It is much appreciated!

Kimberlee Baxter replied:
Thank you, Margaret. A red rose is one of the most gorgeous flowers on the face of the earth! But Grandma's Roses are the most beautiful, in my opinion, because they are grown with love!

Kimberlee Baxter replied:
Thank you so much, Genevieve! I really appreciate the compliment! These were painted in honor of the children's beautiful paternal grandmother, or "Grandma" to them. Besides being the "best Grandma ever", she grows the some of the most pretty roses I have ever seen!
