The Emotive Iris Tank Top

I painted this from a photo I took one Spring morning when it had just begun to mist. I was mesmerized by the purple blue tones of this Siberian Iris and was struck by its perfect upright form. I couldn't wait to paint it and have finally been able to feel I've done it justice. This is a digitally enhanced version to give a "rainbow" and a psychedelic effect with a white/off-white background. By offering this flower in its simplest form, I can now experiment with many different backgrounds and overlays that would be perfect for prints, cards, or stationery and will present these very soon!

Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices!
