From the very first time I saw John Haldane's spiritually inspirational work "Bereavement Card 5 X 7", I knew that the verses taken from John 14:1-2 would be perfect for some of my artwork! You see it has only been a few short weeks since my own mother has passed, and it was as if she was speaking to me right through that verse--"Let not your heart be troubled...
I go to prepare a place for you." (John 14:1-2)! I was so touched, that my hands began to shake, and I began to cry...only these weren't tears of sorrow--but of joy! My mother, Judy, had been bed-ridden for nearly three years and was under Hospice care. It was a long ordeal for me and my family, but what really helped to get through it, was the kind and encouraging words of our circle of family and friends! Because I hope to uplift and encourage others during their most difficult times of coping and suffering from great loss, I now will offer a line of Bereavement or Sympathy cards. Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices!
