This is my tribute to my dad whom I have always looked up to as my hero. Born with a sizable hole in his heart at birth, my dad would have spells as a child where he would black out until one day, it was so bad, that the coroner was called and a sheet was laid over him, but God had a plan for him, and his life was not finished there. Fortunately, his dad was there to revive him and bring him back to life! When it was time for his own dad (who suffered from heart disease) to be called to heaven, my dad can still tell you to this day the exact moment when his father passed away, though he was hundreds of miles away from Tennessee (he was living down in Texas then)! There is such a bond that exists with our parents, and please don't ever think for a moment that your role as a father is secondary to the mother, because it's not! You are very special to both your sons and your daughters and should always be an intergral part of their lives today and always.
Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices!
