Artist's Description
The title of this work--"Wishing You the Sunshine of Tomorrow!" was taken from a line of the poem dedicated to the memory of Jamilia Nahshe Ahmed, a young lady who just recently lost her battle with Leukemia. She was the beautiful and strong spirited daughter of a very dear friend! I have chosen this title for my painting, because I know that for many exhausted parents of little ones, especially those with children who have special needs or who are battling serious illness, there is something so comforting about thinking of the sunrise coming up in the morning on the next day! As they bend down to kiss their little ones' heads, both the parent and child will smile and say together: "See you in the morning!" There is so much comfort to be gained with the thought of the start of a fresh new day dawning...such joy comes then with the hope that with each new day, it will be better than the one before! But sometimes that hope is not fulfilled in real life, but must live on in the beau...
About Kimberlee Baxter
Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices! As a result, I decided to major in Political Science and Anthropology. Studying about different cultures, its art, and political systems has always fascinated me! I think that we can learn a...

Beautiful painting and title dear Kimberlee. The tears are steaming down my face as I read you description. How sad but Jamilia is in a happy place now in the hands of God. No more suffering and pain! May God give strength to the loved ones left behind. May they look up to heaven and smile because I am sure Jamilia is smiling down on them! l/f
Kimberlee Baxter replied:
Aww, Tessa, you are so sweet! Thank you so much for your kind words! I feel the same way--that Jamilia is smiling down from heaven on us! Thanks for being such a wonderful source of encouragement!
