Description
A single rose is showcased from the original work "Delight of Grandma's Roses Painting". Grandma's Roses are preserved here for reflection and preserving precious and timeless memories. In years past, all of her grandchildren have enjoyed their bright velvety texture and heady scent in their due season. They are truly a delight to the senses and the soul when in full bloom!
The title was inspired by my work "Love...a beautiful rose with thorns!" Please refer to it under my other images or under the "Flowers and Leaves" Gallery. It is a beautiful metaphor of life and of a mother's love, which is bittersweet, in that we don't get to enjoy the full promise of life without the "thorns" or the sacrifice (the tears and the heartache) that often comes along with it! This work has the red faded on the rose, and the background is toned down to a simple black and white and gray background. This not only gives it more of a "monochromatic" look, but, also, makes it look more like a "time-worn" photo!
This would make an excellent design for a Mother's Day Card! Also, it is perfect for a design for a resin necklace, like that of Carla Parris'.

Great creative minds think alike, Carla! You have an eye for what will look good for the jewelry designs, and I trust your good judgment and business sense! You are wonderful to work with--a treat, in fact!

This close up of the rose from one of your larger paintings is really beautiful, Kimberlee. I think this image would be lovely in a greeting card or resin pendant, and would be perfect for Mother's Day!! v & f

Thank you, Carla. I really appreciate the compliment, especially coming from you, as you are not only a great jewelry maker, but also a great artist!
