Description
It is paradoxical, yet true, to say, that the more we know, the more ignorant we become in the absolute sense, for it is only through enlightenment that we become conscious of our limitations. Precisely one of the most gratifying results of intellectual evolution is the continuous opening up of new and greater prospects.--Nikola Tesla (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/n/nikolatesl596891.html#LyXCrIrsHttE7gXE.99)
I really like this quote above, because it reminds us that while we can grasp to push ourselves to read and to learn more about the mystery of the world we live in, we should never be too comfortable or boast about that knowledge; the world is just too big of a place for our minds to fully understand everything! Instead, we should seek to be enlightened little by little, day by day, to seek the truth and acquire knowledge in a meaningful way in which we can connect to within our souls, or what really speaks to us personally! Saint Francis from Assisi said it best when he said that "Seek not so much to be understood, as to understand." (according to Wikipedia, this quote is also attributed to Louis Nizer and published in his book, although not in these exact words!). Instead, we should try to really understand the WHY of what motivates people to behave the way they do, then we can begin to understand why they behave a certain way toward us! In this manner, we can better understand others and how we have gotten to where we are in the world today! One of his greatest quotes that certainly has great application today is: "We have been called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen apart, and to bring home those who have lost their way."
This particular work is a version of my original painting "The Enchanted Fairy Garden Meadow". In this new version, I have digitally added in the image of the young lady studying a book of Literature under a Mediterranean Pine tree found in another one of my original paintings--"Finding My Special Place in the Summertime". However, I chose not to include the Mediterranean Pine tree itself, as I felt it would be out of place in this scenery, so, instead, I carefully placed it underneath the large tree of the original "The Enchanted Fairy Garden Meadow"! I feel, that the overall result is that it serves as a very successful focal point to effectively communicate the message I wish to convey!
