Description
The title of this work--"Message From the Other Side" was inspired from when the mother of my cousin's stepson wrote recently about the grief she was experiencing, especially with each birthday that passed (He would have just turned 26, but died tragically in a hunting accident years earlier)!
When parents are putting their children to bed at night, there is something so comforting about thinking of the sunrise coming up in the morning on the next day! As they bend down the night before to kiss their little ones' heads, both the parent and child will seem to automatically smile and say in sync together: "See you in the morning!" There is so much comfort to be gained with the thought of the start of a fresh new day dawning...such joy comes then with the hope that with each new day, it will be better than the one before! But sometimes that hope is not fulfilled in real life, but must live on in the beautiful memories that the loved ones left behind have for those who have gone on to the other side! With the dedication of this painting in their memory, I want to write a message that I think those on the other side now would like to leave for those still grieving here: "God Still Cares, And Is Watching Over You!"
To me, there is nothing more glorious and joyful than looking out into a field of flowers--wildflowers or domestically grown--they are such a pleasant feast of beauty to my eyes! I drink in their rainbow assortment of colors and how they dance across the field...this is where I am in my "Happy Place"! The only thing, in my opinion, more breathtaking than a field of flowers by itself is when it appears with a bright rainbow overhead and a lovely sky along with it, so that is why I added these elements to the composition that was inspired from Nick Boren's amazing capture of a field of tulips!

So love your work... Your gallery is a "Moving" experience.... not the kind of "moving" you have just finished.... This is wonderful. Put all those packing boxes away and relax over this scene. : ) Warm regards from the desert.
Kimberlee Baxter replied:
Hey, Maria, those boxes are still sitting in storage, because there was no room for them in our original 550 square foot home! LOL! When we are done with the renovation (hopefully soon!), then we will have more room downstairs in what was originally a double car garage for the kids. However, part of the garage will be retained for my husband's workshop, as he likes to make hand tools from scratch and bind books the old fashioned way--the way they did hundreds of years ago! Thank you for your comment and support of my work, my friend!
