"And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."
II Corinthians 9:8
This is a very powerful verse when in times we may begin to doubt that God is able to provide when even our job, or our husband's job, is in jeopardy; or when there are layoffs and signs of economic instability all around us; or when we begin to worry about how we're going to still pay the bills and have a roof over our head and food for our family! But just as God did not forget Hagar and her son Ishmael (son of Abraham) when they were in the desert and parched from the heat, we must learn to look to God for ALL our needs; she discovered that all she had to do was to lift up her eyes and see that God had already provided--a wellspring was already there waiting for her to partake of it! Likewise, we must lift up our eyes to see that God has already provided for us! May this Thanksgiving, we be able to see with spiritual eyes just how much God has ALREADY blessed us!
