Title
A Reflection of Vanity
Artist
Kimberlee Baxter
Medium
Photograph - Photo And Digital
Description
Reflections on water are made to look like textured glass using digital effects! This would be a great back-drop for many different marine or aquatic images!
This particular work has an inspirational/spiritual quote inspired from the intro. to the book of Eccles. and 1:2! The full message is...Into the reflection, the old man looks and sees the futility ("vanity") of all that this life has to offer--wisdom, work, pleasure, and wealth and concludes..."All is vanity"! However, it has been shortened to work with this image! Question: "What do you see in your reflection?"

Yes, Roberto, you are right that those who have accepted Christ as The Lord and Savior do have Hope of Eternal Life! However, what I am trying to remind others is that we are not to love the things of this world and love This Life..."Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." 1 John 2:15-16

Hope is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 ....Solomon did not know the Gospel of Christ according to the revelation of the mystery given to Paul for us...by believing the gospel of the cross we are eternally saved and safe in Him..L/FV

Thank you, Nick! It has taken someone very close to me to have to watch that person die slowly (from a terminal illness) and become completely helpless to make me realize how much we can be reduced down and humbled! The things I have valued like knowledge and education, self reliance, pride, etc. can and do eventually all go away when someone gets a disease that attacks the brain and/or central nervous system! A situation like that not only causes me to come to question my own mortality and inevitable death, but also the things that I have held dear to me or have valued highly! Definitely, our lives can take on meaning when we, as you say, can take "pause" to think about how precious the things that money can not buy truly are! Thanks so much for your support!

Thank you so much, Cristina! I wanted to share this message, too...It is not the wealth or the prestige left after one has lived his life that determines the value of the life lived, but how much of a difference he has made in bettering the lives of other people! Love is Eternal and never dies! It is the One thing that remains and lives on in the Hearts of others!
