This work started with an abstract painting with filtered sunlight coming in from the right. For two thirds of the painting, there is a darkening effect moving in a dynamic subtle swirling pattern--the bottom strokes are reminiscent of abstract waves of water. "When the Sun Dips Down into the Water" invokes a feeling of tranquility and is calming and peaceful to the mind and soul! The marbled textured look with both warm and cool tones would be beautiful gracing any home or office or on a card or stationery.
Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN.
