Thank you, Jolanta! The idea behind this work is to have the light shining from above these pansies! They are beginning to turn their Flower heads to face the sun (toward the Divine Light from above!). Thanks for appreciating this work along with me! I appreciate your visit! Please come back soon!

Thanks so much, Claudia! I appreciate your compliments and your support! I do like the way these pansies turned out! They look as though their flower-heads could spin about in the wind! That is why I called them "Pansy Pinwheels"!

Thanks so much, Jenny! What I was aiming for here is painting these pansies from the perspective of looking up to the source of Light from above! I am so glad you like it! Thanks, Jenny, for all your support of my artwork!

Thank you, Veikko. I really appreciate your compliments! This is the time of the year when we can become very active outside in our gardens, whether ones for produce or ornamental, they can bring us great joy watching little seedlings grow and mature into plants, especially with beautiful flowers! Thanks once again for stopping by my art page and commenting, and I hope that you have a wonderful, sunny weekend as well!

Beautiful work, early summer, violets, butterflies and sun, can better hope. My garden bloom in the first half of wild violets, Siberian poppies, butterflies flying around already. I wish you a sunny weekend!

I want to do a pendant using this image with a little glass bead embellishment on the sun!! When the design is suitable, I like to embed tiny treasures in the resin over the image. They give an added dimension, and enhanced sense of depth to a piece.

Kimberlee Baxter replied:

Sounds very nice, Carla. I like all of your ideas! You have an eye for what is aesthetically pleasing!

Kimberlee Baxter replied:

Thank you, Carla. This would make such a nice Easter card or design for a resin necklace for that special someone! The ones you make are so lovely and well made!

Kimberlee, I have become particularly fond of this painting as we have collaborated on using this image in resin covered jewelry. It is a truly lovely piece with an uplifting underlying message. I just love it!! v & f

Kimberlee Baxter replied:

Thank you, Carla. It is really pretty, especially, when made into either into a piece of resin jewelry for a necklace or a card! This would definitely make a very nice card for Easter! I love the cards you make!

I do so love how your butterflies take on the colors of the flowers Kimberlee. A truly magical painting and feeling. One can feel the warmth from the sun. Like / Favorite

Kimberlee Baxter replied:

Thank you, Ken. Sometimes when I am out with my children enjoying nature, I feel like all of God's creatures "talk" to us! It is something I just can't explain unless you have experienced that kind of magical feeling, too!

Kimberlee Baxter replied:

Thank you, Genevieve. I love the monarch butterflies as well and flowers! They are so beautiful, it is hard not to want to break out with the paintbrush to imitate that beauty!

Artist's Description

A group of pansies are blowing in the wind and appear to look like "pinwheels", making them look sort of whimsical. The butterflies are illuminated by the sun's rays. They are full of light and fancy, almost magical! They are reminiscent of magical creatures, like angelic fairies!

About Kimberlee Baxter

Kimberlee Baxter

Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices! As a result, I decided to major in Political Science and Anthropology. Studying about different cultures, its art, and political systems has always fascinated me! I think that we can learn a...
