Thanks, Wayne, I painted all of these leaf paintings for my daughter's school fall festival! They were auctioned off in order to raise money for the school PTA! I wish that I had gotten better pictures, but all I had at the time, was my I-pad, which doesn't take the best pictures. I later purchased a Canon camera in order to upload future pictures with better resolution to this FAA website with my other paintings. Thanks for all of your support!

Beautifully painted autumn leaves! Love autumn colors.

Kimberlee Baxter replied:

Thank you, Veikko. It is nice to know that another artist who is as talented as you appreciates the smaller intricate details on something as simple as the underside, or the back of leaves. But artists who really closely look at nature see beauty all around in nature, even in the "small" things!

Love these beautiful leaves you have created in this brilliantly colored painting Kimberlee! What a beautiful piece for stained glass! I can definitely see the inspiration! The veins in the leaves lead the eye in a wonderful dance of design and color! It is AMAZING! Love it!!!! v/f

Kimberlee Baxter replied:

Thank you, Genevieve. It is nice for you to take the time to stop by and look at my art work and show your appreciation! When I painted these leaves, I had gathered earlier that day some of the prettiest maple leaves that had just fallen off a tree in my best friend's yard for inspiration! I sat at the kitchen table and studied the undersides of the leaves for a long time before painting them! I love how intricate the patterns are that we can often find in nature!

Artist's Description

It is fall, and the leaves have just fallen from the maple trees. They have been collected into a pile, carried by the wind. They are so thick under the feet, that they feel like a carpet to walk on! They make for a beautiful collection when viewed all together like a collage of leaves! This is the second in the series of falling leaves. This one shows the underside of the leaves, instead of the top or front side. Also, it is the upside down image of the first one in the series! It is recommended that when buying this one, the buyer should consider purchasing "Falling Leaves One" also, so that both can be viewed side by side!

About Kimberlee Baxter

Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices! As a result, I decided to major in Political Science and Anthropology. Studying about different cultures, its art, and political systems has always fascinated me! I think that we can learn a...
