About Kimberlee Baxter
Before I had my two children, I worked selling furniture and helping people to decorate their homes--my first passion--interior decorating/design and art! Before I went back to my first passion, I worked for a variety of non-profits and government sponsored programs--including AmeriCorps (domestic version of the PeaceCorps), D.H.S., and the University of TN. Before working in the non-profits, I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and really enjoyed being politically active with a group that addressed socio-economic injustices! As a result, I decided to major in Political Science and Anthropology. Studying about different cultures, its art, and political systems has always fascinated me! I think that we can learn a...

Steve, that is how some of nature's most interesting creatures can be viewed--beautiful, yet dangerous or menacing at the same time! There really is no need, in fact, to go outside of nature to create almost scary sci-fi and alien looking creatures when you maximize a Dragonfly's head or even a Praying Mantis, with its intelligent looking face! There is always something to be learned from studying these amazing creatures!
Steve Taylor
Very beautiful, but also slightly menacing. Fave
Catherine Van Der Woerd
Beautiful! Love how it almost glows! L
Kimberlee Baxter replied:
Thank you, Catherine. I, too, am kind of partial to this dragonfly work! I painted it in a bright blue that would stand out against a black background! The yellow-green tree branch or limb helps it to be even more striking; hence, the name "Electrified Blue Dragonfly"! Thank you so much for stopping by my website to see my artwork and commenting! I really appreciate it!
Silvana Gabudean

Carla Parris
Just voted for this painting in a current contest!!
Kimberlee Baxter replied:
Thank you, Carla. The other blue dragonfly painting was also entered, but somehow did not show up in the contest. I did to go in and edit something, but that shouldn't have deleted it from the contest, only updated it--must be a glitch in the system! Thanks so much for your support!
Genevieve Esson
