For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.

I fear that great tribulation is coming very soon for all Christians across the globe, even those living here in America! That is why I thought about creating a work that could invoke the imagination and the senses into envisioning visiting a special place that could allow you to "escape" when in great times of need! This escape may not be possible in actuality, so you must find a way to release your mind and let your imagination find the way! I share a personal story of triumph over fear to illustrate my point and to help light the way when the darkness of evil tries to take over your thoughts...

When I was a teenager and out on my own for the first time, I had a bad traumatic experience where I was abducted to another state and threatened with a switch blade knife! I quickly realized as I was praying silently to myself that my oppressor was very mentally unstable and reacted to whatever emotion I was showing! In other words, the more I started to panic, the more he went off "the deep end" in his mental awareness and cognizance. Though it was hard not to do, as he was driving 70-90 miles an hour on some back roads that were taking us to a very desolate place, I had to stay in control of my emotions and my fear! Though it was scary, I had to try to understand what and why he was thinking what he was, or to "get inside his head", sort of speak! In his mind, he had some sort of serious relationship with me and felt slighted, so he wanted to punish me! He was a survivalist and (from the things he had told me) had served in a war. I gathered he wanted me to try and make a run for it and then he would hunt me down like a predator would its prey! But guess what, though it's counter-intuitive, you will only invoke the predator's instinct to hunt after you if you do one thing: run! So, don't run! I decided I wouldn't engage in the game, instead, I decided to take the "high road" and appeal to whatever thread of sanity and empathy he had left! While he was describing in great detail a list of terrible things he had done, I fixed my eyes calmly on him and drifted into my thoughts to my special place where I could feel the gentle warmth of the sun on my back; the sand pushing up through my toes and the wind blowing through my hair.

This imaginary journey I took helped me to control my heart rate and my breathing, so that I could remain in control of my thoughts. Because the first thing you have to do is to not let the fear hijack your mind and then your body will stop responding and become "frozen", or paralyzed! I am living proof today that this works, because we serve a truly awesome and amazing God; it was Him that delivered me!

Though I pray that the Lord will stave off the threat of great persecution to Christians here and abroad, I know that I have to bend my will to make way for His! Everything must be done in accordance to His will, not mine! God bless you and keep you, my friends, and may God help you to find a way to escape, should you or your loved ones be persecuted for His Namesake!
