Description
Background of the Decline of the Honey bee:
Since 2006, there is a phenomenon of growing concern in which the adult worker from Honey bee beehives, or European Honey bee colonies, disappear abruptly from the hive, called Colony Collapse Disorder, or CDC (according to Wikipedia). This is largely thought to be due to the increase of chemicals, like insecticides, and fertilizers. The decline in Honey bee populations is a growing concern in producing crops, or growing food, especially for farmers. This could have very negative implications for all of us!
This work includes a quote: "Oh, Honey Bee! Where Have You Gone! This is an excerpt from a poem I wrote called "Oh, Honey Bee!"
"Oh, Honey Bee!"
Oh, Honey Bee!
Where have you gone?
I used to hear your happy buzzing at me
As you made your delicious honey!
I could see you there in flight--so free!
Now you are all but gone...
Gone, because we always thought you would be there,
But we were so wrong!
Please come back and do your dance
Make our flowers grow once again
Only you can be the Miracle Worker for our plants!
Oh, Honey Bee!
This work was made possible through the generous contribution of an amazing photographer, Tanya Myatt Baker! It is from her photograph, that I painted this derivative work. You can see more of her beautiful photos at http://www.facebook.com/bakerspics

Thank you, Carla. I agree that this highlights what, I feel, is one of the best parts of the original painting "Dance with the Daisies"! I love this little, almost magical, looking Honey Bee! I, actually in fact, was thinking that he would look very nice in one of your very pretty resin necklaces, Carla!

Really like this cropped version of your larger piece. It has a nice look and feel in the panoramic shape, and the words are perfectly placed! Very creative version/variation of the original painting!! v & f
