Summer Sunset over a Dragonfly

Description
Dragonflies are great predators of "pesky" insects, like mosquitos. In the air, they have tremendous aerial capabilities! They can fly forwards or backwards and in any direction, as well as extremely fast. No other predator insect can match its stealth and speed! This one is perched on some Prussian blue Grape Hyacinths. It is on the "lookout" for food!
I think that this image would make a nice design for one of Carla Parris' resin necklaces! It would also make a great design for a card as well!

Debbie, I am so glad that you like this Dragonfly work! I, especially, like it, because it spotlights how the Dragonfly seems to be looking up into the sun setting! Thanks for the compliment and your support!

Jolanta, thank you for your thoughtful and generous comment! I encourage any artist to make up their own story of how they perceive my art! I know I make my own up with other artists! LOL! I am so fortunate that my friends on this FAA website usually like them! I am not beyond apologizing for my opinions, should they ever offend someone, which is something I would not want to ever do! That can be problematic, sometimes, when one is overly creative! What is the most absolute fun to me is making up stories together--the way we did when were children--oh, what fun! We should never try to squash that creative spark in our children! Thanks so much for your support, Jolanta!

Thanks so much, Jenny! I painted this dragonfly with the perspective of standing on the water's edge, or the embankment, and looking at this dragonfly at a angle and then out into the water, in order to DRAW the eye into the painting! This creates more movement and makes for a more dynamic painting! I am a big fan of dramatic sunsets, so I wanted to create a bright sunset setting upon this scene! Thanks, too, for enjoying dragonflies along with me; they are such magical looking creatures!
