Description
I painted this in its original form from a photo I took one Spring morning when it had just begun to mist. I was mesmerized by the purple blue tones of this Siberian Iris and was struck by its perfect upright form. I couldn't wait to paint it and have finally been able to feel I've done it justice. By offering this flower in its simplest form and background, I can now experiment with many different backgrounds and overlays that would be perfect for prints, cards, or stationery. This particular work is a sampling of art using my Siberian Iris painting as a stamp to create pschedelic/colorful and bold contemporary exotic artwork using digital effects to brighten a traditional painting. These prints for would be perfect for wall art for the home, office, or children's rooms as well!
This work is the perfect marriage between a hand painting (acrylic with the original) and the Digital Arts! First, I took my original Iris painting and enhanced it to intensify the color purple (my passion!) and then took a digital background and enhanced it to complement the foreground. The digital background was created by using a part of another painting and then creating a mirror image of it and running it through different filters to give it a "marblelized" look. I have also created this design in a choice of colors to celebrate the seasons (will post soon). This first one is the coming of Spring, or "Spring La PrimaVera", or to be interpreted as "The Allegory of Spring" (Botticelli's work).
